Today we are showing you how to achieve beach waves with the TYME Iron and how to curl on someone else. We are working with Genevieve and are going to cover a lot today so lets get started.
The first thing to notice is the angle at which i am holding the iron, We will be talking more about this later but know the angle for the beach waves is very important. When styling on others you always place your thumb behind the “T” in TYME as seen here. For styling on yourself you will always place your thumb behind the blue light. Know the difference between styling on yourself and styling on others!
Notice how i’m tugging on the curl. It makes the curl less bouncy and more lean, for a lean beach wave look. When creating beach waves, don't be afraid to vary the curls by changing angles and how tight the curls are!
On the next curl, it does not form quite as good as I want! So im winding the curl back away from the face, watch how i wind the curl back into shape and let it sit and cool. Wind back! don’t run your fingers through or unwind it. Shape the curl then let it sit.
Notice when we switch to the left side of the head i have completly changed my angle by holding the cord up and pointing the tip of the iron down. This is very important to get the curls going away from your face, I always refer to this as the “roof top.”
Watch how the hair is spread out on the iron here. Keep the hair like a sheet of paper between your fingers instead of pinching the hair into the iron. When the hair is fanned out and covers as much of the plates as possible you create a full, evenly heated curl. On the left side, to show a subtle variation, I curl closer to the ends. This look is a little more controlled and has a bit more volume.
I place Powder Puff on the root of the hair and massage it in, just like you would shampoo. You can do this throughout the day to refresh the product and recreate the volume.
Notice the curls on the left, and how they are finished closer to the end which creates a more controlled look with more volume. The curls on her right have the hair left out at the end which creates a more relaxed version of the beach waves. I hope this help you create the gorgeous beach waves the TYME Iron is known for.
