Hey it’s Jacynda with the basic how to on the TYME Iron. I’m going to show you how to curls and why I designed it the way I did. Lets start with the guidelines, are your key point of reference! They are what you lay the iron down on, what you use to curl and how you find your orientation.
Always set the iron down on the guidelines, when you do you will always be able to see the power button is facing up. I did that on purpose, this is to make sure you don’t burn anything and you always know weather it is on or off. Always rest it on the guidelines. With your right hand, palm facing down pick up the iron from its natural resting position, with your thumb behind the blue power button and the guidelines facing down. When you pick it up look at the guidelines, when you see them you know you are ready to curl. On the right side, take a piece of hair, watching the guidelines as you place the hair between the guidelines. Rotate towards the mirror or towards the floor and glide. Make sure you don’t use too much tension! That will lead to creasing, frizz and sometimes not produce a curl.
Going to the left side, leaving your hand in the same position watching the guidelines. Come up and over the top of your head, place the hair between the guidelines and rotate them toward the mirror or toward the floor. That’s how you create curl going away from your face on the left side.
Once you get proficient with these movements you can then vary how much you rotate it and how much you angle the iron to create varying styles. Don’t be afraid to play around with it to find what works best for your hair.
If you want to straighten, instead of watching the brown lines you want to watch the gold plates. The gold plates coming up, place the hair between the gold plates and glide down toward the floor. Again, Not too much tension and go slow.
When you get proficient with all of these tip you will think to yourself, what did I do before TYME was invented?
